1oT, a global IoT Connectivity provider with eSIM announced its partnership with TeamViewer, a leading global provider of secure remote connectivity solutions, to bring location independent secure connections to every IoT device in over 190 countries. The collaboration enables customers to not only make their device accessibly via a SIM-based data connection but also to control, manage and maintain it with the reliable, secure TeamViewer solution.

Managing IoT devices that are mobile or located outside of a factory can be challenging due to the missing ethernet cable. Fortunately, cellular connectivity is available at the far most distanced locations in the world and mostly vary in speed only.

1oT can establish reliable connections from 2G onwards which is available almost everywhere a cell phone can connect. On top of that, 1oT’s eSIM enables swapping telecoms over the air whenever needed without having to replace the SIM card inside the devices. This makes it a future-proof and flexible connectivity solution wherever the IoT device ends up being deployed.

TeamViewer brings with its IoT suite an easy to implement solution to the table to remotely manage and maintain all those connected devices.

The TeamViewer IoT solution enables a reliable and secure connectivity to the devices to read out sensor data, visualize it on a dashboard send out alarms if certain thresholds are reached and put a conditional rule engine in place. This helps technical support on the one hand to access and control the connected devices and on the other hand to leverage AI-based predictive maintenance features to prevent most of the downtimes before they even occur. This all happens remotely which reduces downtime and improves overall equipment effectiveness without high upfront costs or needs for on-site visits.

Lukas Baur, VP IoT at TeamViewer, explains: “1oT is a strong and relevant partner as it enables us to offer our proven IoT solution for even more devices, especially if they are remote and mobile. Our IoT product is already used in the factory for static machinery but 1oT is adding a whole range of opportunities for devices that are in the field and have to be monitored and maintained on a constant basis in order to be profitable.”

Märt Kroodo, Founder and CEO of 1oT adds: “To run a successful IoT service at scale, one needs to manage its SIMs and connectivity from one and control its devices from another platform. I'm happy to announce that 1oT and TeamViewer combine those two platforms into one strong offering, enabling the IoT service provider to focus on its core business. Our offerings complement each other's services and add tons of value to the booming IoT sector together.”

Both companies agreed to collaborate from October 14th on to offer their services to customers either via the TeamViewer or the 1oT sales department.
